Looking up to Elders

Oil on sized and gessoed paper. Turtles of Beaver Lake. They are always there sunning themselves in the same spots and while I was there for 7 days in a row I noticed this little guy who couldn't quite make it up the big log to be with the bigger turtles so he would rest on the small log and stare longingly in their direction. He tried multiple times to climb up but was just too small. I couldn't help but paint him in with all his determined valor. My little niece suggested the title of the piece and I think it suites well.

Sweet Silvered Glory

Where there's Gold there's Silver in all its finest Glory. These ladies were inspired by the antique Gold gilded frames from the 50's and I just happened to have perfect panels that fit! The ideas for them were floating around my head and finally came out through multiple layers of translucent glazes. Hope you like.

Golden Glory

Sweet Golden Glory. One of my first paintings since finishing school. Done with a series of transparent glazes on panel, complete with a hand painted antique gold gilded frame that matches the piece perfectly. Golden Glory will belong to a 2 piece set that is still currently in progress. Keep your eyes out for Silvered Glory as well!
